Alternative problem solving methods to render with mental ray

This could be used as an alternative to trying to get the coins to work in Arnold.
Coins in Maya Alecs Tutorial link:
I asked for help and Alec sent me this which helped me understand how Arnold works along with how to uv map and texture a coin and how to get the depth in the coin by using a skydome light and a point light.
Coins working in Maya with Arnold Render :
This is what the coins look like underneath due to the skydome lighting and depending on intensity of lights and orientation of the sky dome determines the outcome.
Adding point lights to try and create lighting and reflections on coin for night scene. This didn't work and i manged to resolve this issue in week five after i added the coins to the Ronan's chest.

I also looked at trying to use the content browser to create a more realistic feather but this would not work in arnold render:
Research : Looking at Disneys Hyperion Renderer
https://blog.yiningkarlli.com/
This was very good as it covered a range of different things such as using different renders and how each produces a very unique outcome and how different renders are used and why. I didn't understand all of it as i got lost at the scripts and coding but i got the idea looking at the examples such as :
Moana Island:

Procedurally generating Sand :

Palm trees:
Patrick added the textures ontop of my uv maps so i could move on and do other work.
