Personal Creative Development

The Brief:

Personal Creative Development – Friday 10th May - 15% 

In support of your portfolio, mid-semester you'll be required to choose a 3D/2D/VFX/Animation related discipline to continue your personal practice.  Consider continuing development of your first semester work if you wish.  Alternatively you can elect to help out on a final year project and use that as your discipline focus.

This assignment will run alongside the main studio guided assignment.  Formative feedback sessions will take place over the semester.

Include research into your medium, which could include artists, methodology, practical uses by studios.  Your own reflection and application of feedback.

Individuals will submit a final outcome, submission will take our usual form of:

 

  • Portfolio

This project should have it's own portfolio section on your personal blog. Portfolio should include final designs, and final outputs etc. created by you during the project and annotated / credited clearly.

  • Blog

Your blog should capture your research, development, application of theory and importantly your reflection as you go through the process of developing your personal creative development project.  The project should have it's own section and be organised in a thoughtful way.  

  • Software files

Please include a Onedrive / Google Drive / dropbox link to your project folder software files and final scenes.

My Choice:

Animation Pipeline 

I will be going through all the processes consisted of creating a character so concept art , modelling, sculpting, retop, texturing, rigging and then animating them and doing some visual effects and post production to make it look nice i also plan on learning new things and creating my own tutorials and time-lapse videos and breakdown of my of my work and other work like it looking at relevant artists and information on this area. I am doing this for myself and to help others who will read my blog, as i will be learning some new software like Zbrush, Marvelous designer and Substance designer and hopefully learn how to incorporate my work and is also good for referencing and looking back on when i forget something so i will have all the information i will need in one place on my blog . I want to try and bring my model into a games engine and if i have time create a scene to make they seem grounded. I also want to try and experiment with different renderers and also to upload the work to a 3d model view site like SketchFab or Marmoset.
