Animation :
I was the once that said we should mix and match blend shapes to create more expressions in the face which we all did and i think it looked better for it.
For the animation i worked on the fall the splash , rag dolling free fall and frantic turning from side to side on the board along with the run and jump when he musters courage and finishing with him hitting the water. I also set up the speaker camera and animated the Clock camera also. I had to have him run and jump off the board but i wanted this to be very spring because of his weight and slightly comical. I also had to convey he was nervous or frantic so i used a tutorial and created a particle affect that would originate from the base mesh and would drip off it like sweat. The run would also have a wobble at the start and would then straighten out to show him toughing up and that he is going to do the jump.
While animating i warned everyone not to delete the history as i had already done so and optimised the scne but if they had done so with the animations with diving Dave in the scene it would break him.
